Science often deals with many concepts which are abstract and cannot be seen by the eye, making it hard for learners to absorb some topics. Furthermore, the outputs in the subject tend to revolve around standard worksheet formats, since there are many terms to remember and skills to develop and the best way to practice the learners as well as assess their understanding is through written worksheets.
For their topic on the Periodic Table, however, there was an opportunity to have learners participate in a more engaging output. Thus, they were tasked to create a visual output (infographic or video) and discuss the features of the periodic table. Featured below are images of some infographics).
The students truly put a lot of effort and creativity into the appearance, organization, and content in their work. The videos, in particular, were both entertaining and educational!
